Close to Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is my favorite time of year, because fall is my favorite time of year. I just can't believe how quickly this year has flown by, well, except for whenever I turned on the news and it was nothing but the election for months and months. I'm sort of glad it's over, even though my candidate didn't win. I'll be praying for our new president and for our leaders.

Next Sunday we will be heading up to Spartanburg, SC to celebrate a 50 year anniversary with a couple who have been friends with my parents for about that long. They are a wonderful couple who have stood by my parents since they met. They even came to my mom's funeral and I was touched. I want to say Congratulations Joe and Judy, on 50 years of marriage. In this day and age, it's a rare thing to see a couple last that long. My own parents were so close to it before my mom passed away.

My dad is flying down for their anniversary, and then he's coming to visit us and will be spending Thanksgiving with us. I'm very excited about that. Our friends, Joe and Judy, think he's just coming down to visit for the holiday. Their kids are keeping it secret that there's going to be a party for them. I know they'll be surprised!

My husband's parents will also come on over for Thanksgivng and our son Marcus will come home so I'll have a housefull of people here. I'm getting a fried turkey as well as a traditional one. We love fried turkey, but I'm scared to try frying one here at the house, so Piggly Wiggly is selling fried turkeys.

Blogger is messing up on me so I'll end it here. God bless and have a great evening.
